Sheep Camp September 22-26, 2008
Sheep Camp was a Huge Success

We were overwhelmed with the positive feedback on our first ever five day sheep camp. We received numerous encouraging comments on our facility, great stock to work with, and the organization of it all. The group of participants at camp certainly made this camp as good as it was. The atmosphere was relaxed and very supportive. We can safetly say - everyone had a great time and learned much.

Several people have asked when we will be hosting the next camp. Once we recover from this one we'll be putting plans in place for camps in 2009. Stay tuned.

Half-day mini clinics
Having regular lessons or stock time is a great opportunity to continue ones training progression through the season. If you get a group of four or five people together for a day we'll make it happen. This will be people helping people within their capacity and experience level to do so. To keep costs affordable these are bring your own food affairs. Because the clinics are short, the optimum number of dogs is four or five. Cost is $25.00/dog/clinic.

Other: Friends, family, dog clubs, and visitors are always welcome. Dogs along for the ride and viewing during another persons stock time must be strictly controlled and quiet.

Facility Rental

The facilities at Dog Tale Ranch are available for rent for training, clinics, camps, fun days or hosting trials. We can provide as many or as few services as groups prefer. Estimates are provided for each rental. We have contacts for caterers to provide meals or groups are welcome to service meals themselves with full use of our Shepherds Shack. The herding facilities page describes the amenities at Dog Tale Ranch.

In establishing a herding facility our aim is to provide accessible facilities & livestock so individuals are able to pursue the avenue of herding. Several sanctioning organizations require member clubs to host herding events. As individual owners we are limited in what trial venues we can offer. We are looking for progressive dog clubs & groups who want to take action in promoting herding ability within all herding breeds. With the aid of dog clubs more varied herding events can become possible in this province.
Being located in Saskatchewan all activities at DTR are seasonal.
